UNGA 2019 Conference Panelist Invitation

Changing Destinations has partnered with the Journalists and Writers Foundation (JWF) to provide opportunities for youth to participate in events surrounding Global Citizenship Education. On September 25th, students from Howard and Baltimore Counties in Maryland will attend the UNGA 2019 Conference. They will take an active role in discussions around the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Executive Director, Sasha E. Butler, has been invited to participate as a panelist at the UNGA Conference 2019 “Transforming Our World: Inclusive Social Development for All” Panel 2: Advancing Youth through Social and Economic Empowerment." Ms. Butler will deliver remarks on the “Key priorities and challenges in access to quality education.” Her distinguished background in education and the social development of the young generation is an essential asset to the session on the youth empowerment.
Every year during the UNGA High-level meetings, the JWF creates a platform for the stakeholders aimed at developing strategies and policy recommendations for inclusive social development, sharing innovative ideas and practices for youth empowerment, ensuring human rights and rule of law for socio-economic development, and proposing a framework for an action plan to follow-up on the outcomes of the conference. This year, the UNGA Conference 2019 will include 3 Panel Sessions on “Inclusive Social Development in achieving the Global Goals 2030”, “Advancing Youth through Social and Economic Empowerment” and “Protection of Social, Economic, and Cultural Rights.”
