Team Work Makes the Dream Work

We've got some exciting new partnerships in the works and I couldn't be more thrilled!!! In response to the need to close the achievement gap, Changing Destinations: Journey To Excellence, Inc. (CDJTE) has partnered with The Gift of Love, Inc. CADRE Consulting & Training and Inxcellence Consulting: Training and Coaching Solutions, LLC to form the Power Force Empowerment Collaborative (PFEC) to help HCPSS achieve its Vision 2018 goals. We believe our programs can have a positive impact on closing the achievement gap as they are designed to be engaging, motivational and to instill a sense of well-being in students. In addition, our innovative partnerships with other organizations, businesses and the government ensure we have the resources and financial support to sustain our programs. CDJTE serves as the lead agency for grants and other funding support systems. Additionally, the Collaborative possesses the skills and expertise of trainers, grant writers, researchers and program evaluators.

We have established a Partnership with Cadre Consulting & Training to work with students in the Howard County Maryland area. From this collaboration, we were brought in to work with students at Homewood School, a Howard County middle and high school that works with students who face challenges to success. We piloted a program this summer that worked with students on youth engagement and leadership development.

Exciting News! Changing Destinations has developed a partnership with Shaw Enterprises, a teen-preneur mentoring program out of Charleston, SC and Baltimore, MD headed by Mr. Larry Shaw. This program focuses on expanding confidence in students and transforming their thinking from deficit to asset. Larry Shaw was one of the top 3 winners of rapper T.I.'s education contest through Crowdrise. T.I. partnered with Tidal to Launch 'Money Talk With TIP For Education' Challenge. Shaw Inspires "Teen-Preneurs" came in second, for raising the second highest amount of money in a 6 week period. T.I. matched this funding to support the work of non-profits making a difference in the lives of youth andmaking social impact on a global scale.

Future Plans – With the establishment of a partnership with Homewood School, we will provide high impact interactive leadership training and opportunities for participants to learn how to design a business proposal and to develop a step-by-step business plan the upcoming year.
