Good social and life skills are critical to success in life. Students learn how to communicate effectively, how to make good choices, and how to govern themselves in diverse situations. Community service projects help students learn to be leaders, gain an awareness of the world around them and their role in the local community. Ultimately students develop the skills and self-esteem to become responsible citizens and advocates within their schools and community.

Life Skills Training

We provide a safe and secure environment where students learn and develop positive behaviors that enable them to deal effectively with the challenges of everyday life. The program activities focus on several key behavioral competencies essential for success in school, at home, the workplace and life. These competencies include but are not limited to:

  • Problem Solving

  • Critical Thinking

  • Effective Communication

  • Decision Making

  • Creative Thinking

  • Interpersonal Relationship

  • Self-Awareness Building

  • Empathy & Compassion

  • Coping with Stress & Emotions

Community Service Outreach

Students have the opportunity to participate in activities coordinated with other organizations within the tri-county area that support the needs of the community. These activities teach students the importance of community service outreach and provide participants with community based internships and volunteer opportunities where they gain real life experiences. We develop community partnerships so that every student recognizes the benefits of community service to their education, their career, and to society.

Social Activism Campaigns

Students visit local government agencies and meet with governmental officials, politicians, and community leaders so that they gain a better understanding of how towns and cities are governed, how communities are developed, and how they can participate in their own communities’ development. Students participate in community-based experiential learning activities to prepare them for civic responsibilities and leadership beyond high school and college.
